    When to take QE1

    Advertisements

I'm trying to grasp the significance of QE1 for residency applications. To my understanding, QE1 is not required for CaRMs. However, it seems that residency programs are putting a lot of emphasis on QE1 scores from the experiences I've read online. To me, it seems that an applicant without a QE1 score will probably not get matched in Canada. I would appreciate it if someone could clarify this for me. Also, if it really is "required", when would be the ideal time to take this test?

    TIA

qe1 is not required. some programs will favor an applicant with a strong qe1 score, if they have it.

plenty of img's match without qe1.
