Hello. I am looking to transfer to Plovdiv Medical from another medical university in Bulgaria. do you know if they accept transfer students and how easy would it be to make the transfer? I have all my papers ready (transcripts, letter to the Dean etc)

Sofia is better because there are more resources and better specialists with more opportunity to earn money.

"More opportunity to earn money?!" Holy Toledo.

My surgery prof -- a board certified general surgeon -- left his job in Sofia, where he was pulling in 600 Leva/month... which is around 300 Euros. In general, Bulgaria is NOT the place to practice medicine if you want a living wage. Plenty of docs drive cabs on the side (etc.) just to make ends meet.

While there are docs who do all right there (in specialties where a private practice is possible), they are outliers. This is precisely why Bulgaria is suffering a mass exodus of physicians to other parts of the W-EU.
