    NBME q( pls ans with explaination)

    A man with Autosomal dominant disorder.his son has been not tested for it.What is the propability that his granddaughter will have that disorder thru his son?
    1.less than 1%
    2.25%
    3.33%
    4.50%

    You know that the grand father has Dd, where D is diseaes and d is not. You can't have DD because the grandfather would have been dead in uterine.

    The chance the son has Dd is 50% dd from mom cross with Dd from dad (just like fruit flies) . and the chance the daughter will have Dd is 50% times 50% or 25% . So my answer is 25%
