Can you tell something about the following receptors or apoproteins:
1. Apo B-100?
2. Apo E?
3. Apo E receptor?
4. Lecithin Cholesterol Acyl Transferase (LCAT)?

1. apoprotein of liver-produced lipoproteins: VLDL, IDL, LDL; will decrease with the decreasing concentrations of LDL; not in the hepatic cell membrane
2. apoprotein found in VLDL, IDL, and Chylomicrons; allows "scavenging" by the liver of remnants or if lipoprotein itself; not found in hepatocyte membrane
3. increased by the treatment with hypocholesterolemic agents, not involved in the scavenging of LDL particles
4. activated by apo A1, esterifies free cholesterol in plasma; plasma levels of HDL cholesterol and apo A1 are inversely r/t risk of coronary heart disease;

Good night everyone.. See everyone tomorrow...
