    Avalon SOM

    Advertisements

    Hey everybody,

Im wondering if this school is actually any good or just another scam like some other lower tier caribbean schools. Any current/former students of Avalon, could you share some information about the school that is not necessarily on their website? Such as the standard of education, track record in regards to USMLE pass rates and residency placements? Also any info on their attrition rate?

    Any help is really appreciated!

    Thanks

Just wanted to check in to see if anyone would care to weigh in as to the good, the bad and the ugly,
    regarding this institution.

70% Pass rate. No green book rotaions. The school is a fraud. Take your money and deliver sub-standard academia. They rent out a few rooms in a small alleyway in Punda. Teachers could care less and have condesending attitudes. Lord help you if your white. This is a true 'for profit'.

Oh MD.IMG, why must you troll all over avalon. It's okay that you failed. Not all of us can be over achievers. We know exactly who left our school last and this semester, and if you're one of them...we know you were about to fail, again? lol

Try not to get over heated and go psych on here. Thanks.

FYI for new and current students:

The New York and Florida Approval List has NOTHING to do with Licensure. Instead these lists deal strictly, and ONLY with Clinical Rotations. If your Carib School is NY or FL Approved, then you have the possibility to do as many weeks of Clinical Rotations that you want in FL or NY. If your school is not NY or FL approved, than the amount of clinicals you can do in NY or FL is limited (as shown below).

With New York Approval = A student from your school can do an unlimited amount of clinical rotations in the state of NY

Without New York Approval = A student from your school can only do a MAXIMUM of 12 weeks of clinical rotations in the state of NY

With or Without New York Approval = You ARE ELIGBLE for a Permanent Licensure, due to your school being IMED listed

With Florida Approval = A student from your school can do an unlimited amount of clinical rotations in the state of FL

Without Florida Approval = A student from your school can NOT DO ANY amount of clinical rotations in the state of FL

With or Without Florida Approval = You ARE ELIGIBLE for Permanent Licensure, due to your school being IMED listed

You're only restricted from residency, not licensure.

I didn't fail and I am not getting heated. In fact, I am rounding and seeing patients in the clinical setting, something thats alien to you and your cronies at Bermuda University.. I left because the school is a joke,,you know it too,,your scared to tell mommy and daddy you made a huge mistake,,it's ok,,just memorize pre-test and BRS..you should be fine. Oh wait, maybe mommy and daddy know the family,,is that it? Or maybe you paid for an exam with sex or cash..could that be it?
I can tell your definetly going to be one of the 70% that passes..keep dancing at the Fusion..that always comes up on boards,,****

    Cheers

Md.IMG, You still have friends at this school. Why would you keep posting stuff like this? No one is saying anything against you, and the people that are here are only trying to succeed. Obviously you were unhappy with the school, and that is your right. No school is perfect. The students don't earn a cut of the profits that a school makes, so why are you trying to cause a harder time for those students that are still here?
