Congrats on getting accepted. What service are you a veteran of?
I just got accepted to AUC for Sept 09. I need to find a roommate and eventually a place to live. I'm 27, white male, veteran. Very clean and respectful. A girl or a guy will do. If you already found a place and are in need of a roommate, that's even better. Thanks.

Yeah, spent a lot of my life at Ft. Bragg in the 82nd Airborne (Army). And got to do some fun filled time in Baghdad!. Welcome to AUC, and good luck!

Thank you! They never sent me anywhere. Everyone else got to go to Iraq, UAE or Afghanistan at least twice. It's strange that I never had to go. But I didn't really mind :] Although, it would have been more rewarding to have done something extreme.
I don't think I'll have much luck finding a reasonable place out there, or a roommate. I guess I'll have to spend $1300 a month.
I have an off topic question for you, since you also go to AUC. On skyauction.com I could get a round trip ticket to SXM for $200+110 in fees. The ticket is only for a couple of weeks. When I show them the proof of a ticket, does it have to be a continuing ticket or they don't really care, so long as you have a round trip ticket? Thanks

They only need a round trip ticket. But that kind of seems like a waste of cash if you aren't going to use it. Why not just book your return flight for Dec?

I'm not planning on coming back that soon. If I do, I'd have to spend another $400 on travel, which unfortunately, I cannot afford at this moment. I have to see how much the GI bill is going to give me first. I think I only have about a year and a half of it left, anyways. So, just being thrifty.
Understood. I kinda just gave up when I realized I was going to be over $200k in debt, probably closer to $300k by the time I finished. Saving the $400 on a plane flight seemed sorta like shooting a grizzly with a bb gun...not really going to make much of a difference.
