$2499 is a steal? I am bored, so I went to kbb.com and just took a guess at around 80,000 miles. Even in excellent condition, it's worth about $1750. In fair condition, which is much more likely after 6 years on the island, it'd be worth $1,150! Paying twice a car's value doesn't seem like a steal to me.

    Actual facts about my car

For those interested in my vehicle, please note that the car only has 37K miles on it, has worked perfectly for my time on the island.

To address your post Slevit1: I want to first let the users here on ValueMD know that the car that you are selling is going for $7,000 and has been in an accident. The accident, however it was not reported within your post (http://www.valuemd.com/auc-medical-s...ale-april.html)

Please take into account that slevit1 has not been truthful in his post about his car, and is now deciding to comment on mine, for whatever reason.

hahaha. yes, I am selling my car for $7000 (actually, pretty sure it's already sold), which is right around it's value of $7020 on kbb (just ran it again a minute ago). This is not taking into account the $2000 that I paid to ship it here or the upgraded stereo system, which cost around $1000. I'm just looking for what it's worth...no more, no less. You're right, it was in a minor accident, which caused minimal cosmetic damage to the right front bumper. If anyone asked for a picture or took it for a test drive, this would have been plainly obvious. I never claimed it to be in perfect cosmetic condition and certainly didn't attempt to hide anything. As I mentioned in my post, that was just a preliminary advertisement, but it's often sitting in the lot for anyone to look at. However, like I said, I believe it is sold, which is why I haven't updated anything.

I was simply pointing out that $2499 is not a steal for a car that is worth $1760 (I checked again with the correct mileage...sorry about that). No need to get all defensive.

Kelley blue book is a GUIDE for approximate worth of cars in the US ,not island cars. Therefore I think a lot more people would be willing to pay 2500 OBO for a taurus rather than almost 3 times that for your RAV4.

except, like I said, mine is probably sold. Some people don't mind paying for something nice. You're right, it is a guide for cars in the US, which are typically in much better condition than their island counterparts! None of this matters though and I have no idea why my car was brought up. I was just making a point. If people want to buy it for $2500, they're free to do so.
