    Shelf study tips/tools

    Advertisements

For IM: UW, CaseFiles, MTB were helpful.

Any ideas for Surg, Pedes, Ob/gyn and psych. Please post below.

Also, are ALL shelves curved or was it just IM?

    Thanks.

I haven't heard of any of the shelve exams being curved. You get a raw score and its up to AUC to set a min passing, fail or honor score, if I remember correctly. They used standard retired USMLE exam questions from the National Board of Medical Examiners which is called a shelf. Case-files are nice to have a clinical context to the important material. Any test prep Q-book's were helpful for me so I can see what types of questions will be asked.
