Can anyone give me a time line from taking step to starting clinicals?

Just wondering if you had any wait times and how fast it took you to get your first clinical after you received your step score.
Also, can you do 72 weeks straight?
    Cheers

It usually takes a few days(at most a week) to get your clinical schedule. After you get your Step 1 score, you e-mail the pdf file of the score report and then you get to choose what hospitals/regions you prefer and from there, they give you a proposed schedule.

You CAN do 72 weeks straight. The big thing to keep in mind if you want to do this is to be flexible. Spots will always be open. However, some places don't have as many students rotating in their service compared to others. One hospital could have 10 people in an internal medicine rotation from AUC while another only offers two. If you don't mind traveling to multiple hospitals(and multiple states), you can absolutely do 72 weeks straight. If you would like to stay in one location, like NY, it is possible due to the various hospitals within somewhat close range, but it might not be at the same hospital, and you might have to do an elective or two in between cores.
