    Mary Immaculate hospital

Has anybody rotated at Mary Immaculate Caritas hospital ????

I'd like to hear some opinions about the hospital and the education provided to rotating medical students.

    Try Ross Clinicals Forum

Mary Immaculate is a new site to AUC (Wyckoff bought it only recently), so not many AUCers have rotated there --- however, Ross students have been rotating there long before AUC, so I would check the Ross Clinicals Forum for info. Good luck!

MIH is located in Jamaica, Queens. Decent facilities in an OK neighborhood. Not too many students running around (as opposed to Wyckoff), but a fair amount of Ross + AUC students + PA students from US schools rotate there.

I did the first half of my Surgery rotation there (6 weeks). The program is well structured, as they allow you to rotate through the various aspects of Surgical care (floors, ICU, trauma, OR). I'm satisfied with the level of teaching. The residents are easy to approach, and will teach more than just "pimp".

Other info: Parking is $3/day for employees. They have a decent cafeteria. If you're working on the weekends, food is free. Easy access by subway. Wyckoff/St. John's/MIH are now considered the "BQHC" (Brooklyn-Queens Health Care) system.
You tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is 'never try'.

I haven't done any rotations there, but I've seen the hospital and heard some info from students. The area isn't that great, but that's the case for most of the NYC hospitals so don't let that deter you. It's easily accessible via subway...I don't remember exactly which trains go there, but it puts you pretty much right next to the hospital. From what I hear, the rotations there are better than at the main Wyckoff site. I don't know too many details, but that's what I've heard.
