    Housing for clinicals

    Advertisements

Hi, all. I'm considering applying to AUA and reading up on student experiences. Do you have to find your own housing for core rotations? I see people scrambling to find places to live on short notice...is that the norm? I'm more than happy to rough it - that's not at all a problem. The 2 things that would make me nervous about that are having to move in with total strangers that aren't even students...couch surfing through craigslist for 2 years of med school does not sound so good. I want to focus on academics, not staying alive. :S And also, what if you have a 6 week rotation and places rent out rooms by the month? You'd move into a room and then try to rent a hotel room for the last two weeks? Somebody please tell me there's a system where the college arranges for safe, affordable places to stay...

it doesn't even make sense to not have any information on housing for clinicals because the student housing for the antigua camus looks organized and pretty amazing...

Check out NYCMedHousing if you need help/guidance finding housing for your 3rd year clinical rotations in Brooklyn. They have both short term leases and year long leases on their website. They work with building owners who work with medical students. They only work with Caribbean medical students and know the best/safest places to live near your hospitals.

They have tons of listings posted on their website and it's constantly being updated with new ones
