I did my 5th semester at the ATL site. Its one of the best sites. Although when I did it, it was unfortunate that the main teacher had to leave after 2 weeks because his mother died. We were given another person who is a more clinical teacher than step 1 teacher. It was pretty much a waste of time after then. I had to watch kaplan videos and just did my own thing after 5th semester to pass my step. After my semester, the teacher came back and I heard everything was back to normal. So in my Opinion if you are a lil rusty and you want to learn step 1 material, pick ATL. Unlike Miami you may not get several hours to study, but you will definitely keep your brain sharp from all the teaching the step 1 teacher offers. However, if you are someone who knows his/her stuff and you believe you do not need to go over any material with any teacher. If you feel like once you pick up your first aid and your questions, everything is ok, then you can go to a site that doesn't make you come to lectures and hospitals all the time. From what I have heard from people, Miami will be it. I do not know about Kingsbrook or RUMC. Good luck

Below is some information that I had put together for Med 4 students following my Med 4 class. Staten Island
    Housing
    1) In terms of housing, the students who rotate at this site commute from home as finding apartments in the area is difficult. Those students who do rent apartments had to go through local realtors to do so. If you find yourself in a position to rent an apartment, you are encouraged to contact a realtor in advance to give yourself enough time to find a place and get settled in.

    Schedule
    Rotations: Monday-Thursday, Class: Friday 1pm-3pm
The rotations at Staten Island are split into 6 rotations: GI, Anesthesia, Nephrology, Clinic, ER, and Hematology/Oncology. The rotations go from 9am-1pm with rotations lasting for a couple hours on some days. Students are divided into groups of 4 and each rotation lasts for 2 weeks. The GI rotation goes from 7am-12pm, but can sometimes last longer depending on the amount of patients.

Site Requirements (same as what was listed in the 5th semester checklist that was passed out). Each New York site requires an eligibility letter and $30 fee. In terms of the drug test, all that is required is a 10-panel drug test, not a hair test. Students are encouraged to get their background checks/police reports early, but a letter of good conduct is sufficient for the short-term. Students who have had the Hepatitis B vaccine are required to get titers for this.

    Miami
    Housing
    1) In terms of housing, the students who rotate at this site live in apartment complexes located in North Miami and South Beach, which is 15-20 minutes (including traffic) from the site.

    Schedule
Rotations: Tuesday-Thursday, Class: Friday, Harvey Model Cases: Monday, Case Presentations and Small Groups: Friday
The schedule of rotations and class at this site changes each week with slight variations in the time. Classes and rotations take place approximately between 10am-12pm or 12:30pm-2:30pm time periods. Often times class and rotations may last for an hour. The students are divided into groups of four for their small groups. Each group’s weekly schedule varies.

Site Requirements (same as what was listed in the 5th semester checklist that was passed out).

    Michigan
    Housing
    1) Extended Stay America- Cheap, but not as nice as the other extended stay

    2) Extended Stay Deluxe- Rent includes everything (internet, cable, electricity), majority of the students live here

    3) Candlewood Suites- More expensive than the others, but very decent

    Schedule
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: These are the days we are on rounds, as far as schedule goes, it depends what round you have. For example: If you are in an Internal Med rotation you'll probably need to be at the hospital around 7:30am, and after rounds, morning report, tumor board (Mondays) and noon report you'll be out by 1:30pm at the latest. If you have surgery rotation, you will be expected to be in scrubs and on the floor rounding anytime before 6 am and leave around 10-12 depending on what surgeries you see. All rotations are different, so you need to ask you resident or the medical students on the first day what to do and where to go.
Tuesdays, Thursdays: These are the days of instruction by Dr. Khan. Our lectures begin at 8:30am and go until 10:30am. Dr. Khan always takes attendance so make sure you show up!

Site Requirements (same as what was listed in the 5th semester checklist that was passed out). Requirements must be completed one week prior to starting rotations.
