SURGERY ROTATIONS 12 versus 8 weeks

    Advertisements

Someone told me that I have to do 12 weeks of surgery(ie 8 weeks core and 4 weeks elective) in order to get licensed in certain states. Is this true or just a false rumor? I am scheduled for 8 weeks but am not sure whether or not to do 4 more weeks. I would rather do another elective during those 4 weeks but if I have to I will. Please help.
    Thanks.

Yeah, I believe that is true. We have an 8 week surgical core and need a 4 week surgical elective.

If you are doing 8 week surgery core, you do not need another 4 week of surgery elective.

If you do 12 week surgery core; you will automatically get credit for 4 weeks of surgery elective.
