    no holidays?

    Advertisements

Im sure the clinical students all got the e-mail form Dr. B about "asking for holidays off" heaven for bid we want to spend sometime with our families. I mean this school sends us all over the country for clincals and lord knows how often we get to see family and would like to go home for a holiday. BUT NO, YOU CANT because holidays are only recognized in the country in which the campus is in. WAIT, THIS MEANS ALL THE CLINICAL STUDENTS GET OFF FOR CARNIVALE THEN RIGHT? (im sure this is not what he meant) BUT all clinical students (at their own discretion) should consider getting together and taking off for carnivale and see how that flies. I have never heard of any job offering less than 6 holidays a year. I mean we work crazy hours, 24 hour calls, and weekends and never make a peep. We ask for one major holiday off and heaven forbid. Dr. B, you should be fighting for us to get a break NOT go against us. I know we want to be in good standing, but come on ... they should atleast treat us the same as residents, we are NOT dirt.

I gotta agree with you on this 100% .... its not as if the clinical students get the Antiguan holidays off but we're also not supposed to get US holidays off? This makes absolutely no sense at all.

So according to Dr. B are we supposed to get off for all Antiguan holidays? I'd like to see how that flys with the hospitals we're at and the attendings we're with..... school policy right? We should refer them to the AUA handbook

If you have a problem with it... Seek advice from your spiritual leader!

I didn't get any memo. I had to work on Memorial Day. I didn't groove on it, but we had sick patients to see. This is part of what I signed up for. It's just easier for me to resign myself to working every holiday until I finish residency. I worked holidays in the military too. I guess I'm just used to it. Thank you, Sir...May I have another?
