    Interfaith or Wyckoff for IM?

    Advertisements

Can anyone recommend which hospital would be better for the IM rotation? I know Wyckoff has near 60 students per rotation and they dont really teach you much and you basically have the entire day to study in the library, but I dont know much about Interfaith except that it is in the ghetto. If anyone knows about either program and can advise me on which hospital to choose as they both start end of May, I would really appreciate it!

I'm at Interfaith right now for IM. I like it mainly because I have a lot of time to study. There are 35-40 of us here total for IM but it's 6 students per attending. Each attending's schedule is different and you do the 1st 6 weeks with one attending before switching. My attending, Dr. S, rounds from 7-8 a.m. everyday. Then we meet with him at 11 a.m. everyday. Noon conference is from 12 - 1 p.m. Tues. and Thurs. and there's another conference from 4-5 p.m. on Tues. and Thurs. There are lectures with the chief residents Mon. and Fri. from 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. Once the last thing of day is over, I'm free to go home. In the morning after rounds, I fill up my time by seeing a patient or asking the residents if there's any blood work to be done. Yes it's in the ghetto, but you know the old saying, don't start nothin', won't be nothin'. In other words, you have nothing to worry about. You're only here for a few hours out of the day.
