    Will aua allow a student to graduate if they are done with all rotations on time but havent taken step 2? Does anyone know of anyone who was able to graduate without step 2?

    Most likely not. If you don't complete all of the requirements before this graduation you will likely not be allowed to participate in the ceremony. However, you will still get your diploma whenever you complete all the requirements, and once you receive your diploma, you have "graduated". As always, the best place for you to receive this information is from the registrars themselves, so you should contact them.

    Degree Conferral of Graduation Requirements | AUA

    Degree Conferral of Graduation Requirements

    To satisfy the requirements for graduation and to secure a medical diploma, a student must fulfill the following:

    (i) all curriculum requirements for Basic Sciences and Clinical Sciences to include the completion and the passing of all core and elective rotations;

    (ii) pass USMLE™ Step 1, Step 2 CK and CS;

    (iii) fulfill all financial and bursar responsibilities assuring a “zero” balance and fulfillment of graduation fees.

    The Dean of Student Services and Registrar in the New York office assesses each students medical school file and supporting documentation in preparation for graduation, verification of degree, submission of ECFMG paperwork for verification and ECFMG certification, and degree conferral. The Dean of Student Services and Registrar assists students in preparation for graduation.

    I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.

    They might let him/her walk, but just not get a diploma, a lot of undergrads do that if you are only 1 class shy or something like that. Best to call and ask.
