    Updating BLS

    Advertisements

For those clinical students who need to update their BLS, check out Online CPR Certification and Online CPR Re-Certification AEDCPR - American AED/CPR Association. Only $15 dollars, completely online, and if you remember your stuff just go straight to the test and you'll have a new card within 10 minutes.

You got any website other than mymedcerts.com for the hipaa, blood borne pathogens, and HIV education certificates?

Is it ok if it's not a American Heart Association certified BLS card? The appearance of the card looks really similar. I'm just wondering if they will be picky about it not being AHA.

and you don't have to go in to take the in-person practical? when i was looking around before, i couldn't find a re-cert that didn't require me to go do the practical somewhere before giving me my card

you do not have to go in for a practical. They make you watch videos of some guy performing cpr on an adult, child, and infant. This is only for BLS though. ACLS is impossible to do solely online as per my searching thus far. My BLS card says A.C.A certified

If you are ACLS certified, why would you need to recertify BLS???

In order to certify (or recertify) for ACLS, you have to have a current BLS card. So every 2 years you need to do BLS and ACLS. Do them in the same month and it's easy to remember when to recertify.

Exactly! I have recertified ACLS twice already and have never been asked to produce BLS certification. By the way, I was an AHA (Australian Heart Association) BLS instructor for many years. ACLS is NOT available, as such, in Australia. FWIW.
