Is Psych at Lincoln, NE Greenbook? Help!

    Advertisements

Hi! I found out that I have been placed in a newly acquired Psychiatry rotation in Lincoln, Nebraska at the Lincoln Regional Center. I was told that this was a greenbook rotation but, I did not see an ACGME accredited residency at this location when I searched the online databases (I used both ACGME and FREIDA databases to search). I also checked the AOA database and there is no AOA approved residency also at this location. Does this mean that the rotation is not greenbook and also not a bluebook rotation? Does anyone know about this rotation and about its greenbook status? Is there anyone I can contact to clarify that the rotation really is greenbook? I know that this is a new rotation but any help/info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

What they probably meant to tell you was that it's under the family medicine umbrella. Rotations under the family medicine umbrella are only accepted as green in some states. call the states that you are interested in working in and ask about their criteria for permanent licensure. I say permanent because most residencies from what I hear don't care. But that's just from what I hear. But what I wonder is why is this not on the website? A student was offered Family medicine at McNeal Hospital in Berwyn IL a few months ago, and that's not listed on the website either. I would figure the school would update the website a.s.a.p. with any new affiliations.

I checked the databases under family medicine but, I still did not see the lincoln regional center listed as having any acgme approved program(not even through Creighton University like I was told). Any thoughts?

I was in on that call too and I believe we were misinformed. There is a greenbook family medicine rotation at the Lincoln Regional Center through the Lincoln Medical Educational Partnership but I've been unable to find any connection between that hospital and Creighton University (which is in Omaha and has programs only in Omaha, as far as I've been able to find).

I can't post links but there's a site called hospital data.com that has information on this center that says the facility is not AOA or AMA approved.

i find no relation to that hospital and Creighton Psych anywhere on FREIDA or the ACGME website

just to double check, you can see Creigton's training sites here: Psychiatry Residency :: Creighton University and UNMC :: Training Sites

if you are going to do psych, know it's not greenbook and inform the school as well. they shouldn't be telling students that it is when it's not.

Hi StudyStudy! I was wondering where you were able to find that there was a greenbook family medicine rotation at lincoln regional center? I also checked Family Medicine through the Lincoln Medical Education partnership but, I couldn't find the lincoln regional center listed as a participating institution. Thanks!

    Thanks for the input everyone!

hey guys i was in on the call too... i've also been searching a great deal to determine Lincoln Regional's greenbook status.. couldn't find anything on the acgme website..

sent a few emails to AUA--recieved one back from a member of the clinical sciences staff that said it was greenbook due to it's association with Creighton University's Psych Program.. i called the same person to get into the details a little more and she said the program at Lincoln Regional is part of the Creighton U Psych program which credentials it as ACGME.. i told her it wasn't listed as a participating program on ACGME but she said it's a direct part of the Creighton University program so i can be assured it's a greenbook rotation/ACGME accredited..

that answer didn't quite cut it for me so i called the Creighton Psych Residency coordinator---waiting on a call back.

that's the best way to go about it. what's strange is neither the Creighton website, nor ACGME or FREIDA list is as a training site. unless it's some brand new affiliation but you'd think it would be on one of those three mediums.

if the psych coordinator says no, i wouldn't do the rotation.
