    Siuh?

    Advertisements

So I've filled out the application to do electives at SIUH and the school assures me they sent in the necessary paperwork. However I have left numerous voicemails and email at the SIUH coordinator (through their online site) and haven't heard anything back. I've been trying to contact them since November!

ANyone rotate there? Is there a trick or something?

I had emailed with the coordinator and secured my spot in about an hour with the paperwork being sent over after. Have you tried emailing her? She's very good with email. Also, if she's not getting back to you it's possible she's on vacation or something because the two other students who I know of that applied for electives there had very similar experiences as me.

Yeah I emailed her three times so far. I think she may be out of the office or something. It doesn't help that the coordinators at AUA just got switched again....grrr.

No idea...I set this up a few weeks ago so it was before the switch. I did set up the rotation prior to contacting AUA about sending int he paper work. I would assume that for the next few weeks, we're not gonna hear much back from the coordinators unfortunately. Last time they changed I couldn't get throught to anyone for 6 weeks!

I swear it takes an act of Congress to get these electives scheduled! I've been emailing JF at SIUH since Nov and also leaving voice messages but no response. IN the meantime the (previous) coordinator at AUA stated she sent my paperwork to SIUH almost a month ago. (dean's letter, etc., etc.,) I've been emailing and calling SIUH coordinator just asking if she had received the info but no response.

Finally I called today over and over again and she actually answered the phone. She was very abrupt (and frankly somewhat rude) and said there was nothing for Feb. I was able to tentatively get something scheduled for April but she said wasn't even sure if she had received the paperwork from AUA because "I am not at my desk right now and I don't need to be harrassed" Strangely enough I received a call from my new coordinator from AUA within 30 mins of getting this set up. (the planets aligned I guess) He was not made aware of any of this but states he will look into it.

In the meantime I am desperate to get my Feb elective set up on Staten Island but as far as I can tell, every hospital is full up with students for rotations. If I don't get this rotation scheduled I may not graduate in time. Stressed does not begin to described what I am going through.
