    Titres

    Advertisements

OK so what the deal with some hospitals requiring titres within one year and some just requiring titres.

It cost me 1300 dollars to do all my titres which i am still paying off. They are 14 months old and AUA clinical department says they are no good?

they say Interfaith requires it to be within one year but whycoff is different?

has anyone actually talked to the hospital about this? Im trying to find out and will update.

I don't remember paying that much. They should not charge you more than 7-10 dollars per titer.

If you paid $1300 then you were royally ripped off. The most I ever paid was $150 because I had to have the results rushed and in less than 5 days. I had them done at Quest and they shipped them to a lab that would priortize them and they even faxed them into the school for me.

I would actually call the folks charging you $1300 and challenge them and tell them I want a reduction in the bill. The school doesn't decide what titers remain valid or for how long, that is done by each individual hospital. Wyckoff requires titers every year regardless of what the school states.

I paid $179 and was upset that the credit card swiper was in the patient room and that I got charged before any blood was taken. But I guess I shouldn't complain. Where were you at? Did you get this done in the U.S.? What all did you have done? Is the $1300 from the titres only?
