I did this rotation back in '08. It was really cool. Its in a clinic, and theres several people with you, so we would rotate seeing patients, which meant a lot of down time. Also the hours are great, no weekends, and one day of in the week (I think it was thurs or weds). I would recommend you doing this rotation because you will have time to study, Dr. Bademosi is really nice (ROSS graduate) and with the current rotation situation at AUA we should take anything they give us (especially if its greenbook).

Hi, thanks, I already started it. It's going well, and there is plenty time to study indeed.

    Anesthesiology - is good.

    MON-FRI. 7:30AM-~ 2-4 pm.
We had lectures during the week when there was some time, there are assigned readings. Overall its a good rotation (compared to other ones at JPH).
The Drs are nice. There are two.

Dr. W is the attending for pain management.
This is my first rotation so I can't compare him to any other attending..
but he has been awesome for me.

    Hours:
    Mon - 730 to ~1130 OR; 100 to ~300 pain clinic
    Tues - 800 to ~300 pain clinic
Weds - off (he has a private clinic he goes to)
    Thurs - 730 to ~1130 OR; 100 to ~300 pain clinic
Friday 800 to ~300 pain clinic

The OR hours require a scrub class.
The patients come in for epidurals.
    H&Ps then observation.
The scrub classes can be a pain..
they offer it only on Thursdays and are fickle whether they even have it that week.

The clinic is 1 room on the first floor (166A)
Depending on how many other students are rotating with you..
you may have to take turns doing H&Ps in groups (the room can hold like 4-5 students comfortably)

Occasionally, there will also be pain management consults.. more H&Ps.

Dr. W occasionally assigns topics to read up on.
(i.e. epidural steroid injections, gabapentin, NSAIDs)

At the end of your rotation, you have to give a presentation.
You get to choose the topic (preferably related to pain management)
(i.e. sciattica, diabetic neuropathy, rotator cuff injuries)
