    Electives @ Harbor/Bmore

    Advertisements

How long does it take to get electives at Harbor? Is there a step 1 cut-off score (like there is to do cores) to do electives there? How long does it take to get approved?

you can't do any rotation at Harbor unless you have a minimum of 210

they are relatively easy to get once you have done Internal there but I would assume Internal med anywhere is a pre-requisite for any Internal elective. i doubt they would approve your application if you haven't done Internal yet.

really? Man, I've talked to several students that are rotating at Bmore that failed several classes on the island and thus I'm assuming have lower scores than a 210... is it really a 210?

All i've done is family and OB, would that mean I will be unable to do alot of electives? How many electives would I be able to actually do? I'm asking because I have about 3 months in b/w my cores in baltimore and I was hoping to fit in 3 months of electives.

you can do electives elsewhere besides Harbor.

generally, you aren't allowed to do internal electives until you've done internal but other places here will allow you as long as you've done family. i can see why they have this requirement, you definitely will not get as much out of an internal elective as you would if you did internal first, even family wouldn't cut it.

are you in Baltimore rotations yet? if so, contact Dr. S

if not then i don't have a list off hand but pretty much any elective that isn't at Harbor you can do w/o internal.
