ERAS states I cannot apply to

    Advertisements

I'm filling out ERAS and trying to find out the states I cannot apply to as a graduate from AUA. Assuming all greenbook cores/electives, the states I cannot apply to are Cali, Arkansas, Tennessee, Alaska--can anyone fill me in on any others? Alabama? Anything else?

You can apply to Tenn cause i applied there and got an interview. the thing with TN is you can't get an unrestricted medical lic as far as the state is concerned but you can get your temporary or what is copmmonly called your training lic for residency eventhough AUA isn't on the Cali list. I talked to the medical board directly and the info about TN cause that is where I am going. Now on the other hand UT knox won't touch you while UT memphis will give you an interview. You are correct about Ark cause i got an email from them when i applied to two programs there. Cali everybosy knows about and the others i haven't heard anything. For the most part grenbook rotations and cali list pertains to medical lic after residency.

I actually really do want to follow up on this. I noticed on Sree's list, he listed TN as a restricted state that AUA residents can't get licensed in. Is this correct? Are you saying you can be approved for a residency in TN? These restrictions are important to know bc I don't have a ton of$ to throw at ERAS, esp if it's 'wasted' on non-useful apps.

That list needs updating... (Even Sree entitled it "Preliminary.")

As ERAS season is on a lot of people, I think it's in everyone's best interest to know any non-cali/arkansas states people would have problems with, I know there's a ton of people that this applies to on these msg boards. I just wanted to get the dialogue going.

I admit I haven't done as much research as I should have but I see a SMU student in a Arkansas family medicine program.

I thought SMU is in the same boat as AUA, if not worse?
