OB/Gyn at Southern Regional in GA... greenbook?

    Advertisements

I was insistently told that Southern Regional in GA is greenbook for Ob/Gyn yet I haven't been able to find it on the ACGME website. However, I did see that South Fulton is greenbook through Morehouse. Am I mistaken? Is there another name for Southern Regional?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I thank you in advance!

Well, if they are insistent about it being green, they should have no problem providing you with the 10-digit ACGME Program Code showing where the program is green.

This is one of the things I recommended to the new clinical ombudsperson. The school should post (and keep updated) a list of all of its clinical rotations and show chapter and verse in ACGME where they are green. That way there is never any question and the student can print it out and have proof that the rotation is green. That list would take about 2-3 hours to compile and post online or on the S-drive if they didn't want the public to have ready access. But something tells me they don't want us to know the lack of green rotations they have....

Shoot an email to the ombudsperson voicing your concerns. She's getting paid to handle just these type of issues. PM me if you need her contact information.

I think you just nailed it.

But things obviously need to change --

More specifically, AUA is going to have to do obtain more ACGME-accredited rotations.

Is this impossible? I really don't think so.

that is a great idea, it puts some credibility and accountability to what they call green. my guess is that it won't happen but it would shut up a lot of people.

I agree that this is a great idea.

Based on what we've accomplished here thus far (nothing?), it is clear that talking to ourselves is not very effective.
