    Passport 3rd Year AUA

    Advertisements

I'm in a unique situation in that I'm transferring into 3rd year AUA; I don't think I'm ever going to have to go to Antiuga. Is a passport necessary? I saw it on a list of required things to have, but I have no idea why I would need one to start rotations if I'm not going to Antigua, I need to figure this out ASAP, bc I know there is a long processing time for these things.

Call the school, but i'm pretty sure if you're not going to antigua for any reason (or leaving the country for that matter) then you wont need a passport.

I know logically the answer is no--so I figure despite the list of required docs w/ passport being on there that the answer is no. I called Mrs Dejesus and she said its not required. I appreciate the confirmation, I just didn't want to be sol for ignoring a non-sensical requirement that they enforce.

Some hospitals might need a passport as citizenship proof.

I've never had to show proof of citizenship to a clinical site. If it happens, a birth certificate should be fine.

I have never had to show proof of citizenship. If you have a student visa, you have to provide that at the time of starting a rotation.
