    AUA's affiliated core rotations

    Advertisements

    Hi Sree,

As you know AUA does not list the core rotations available at each of the affiliated hospitals. I've tried researching the hospitals websites but have come up with no info. Would you please list the rotations that AUA CURRENTLY has at each of the hospitals, at least for NY?? Thanks.

Also, why is it that the clinical coordinator ("TL") NEVER gives us a schedule of booked rotations (dates, location, & in what order).?!?!?!
I have no idea what is next, where it is, & when it starts!!! The other clinical coordinator not only does all of the above, but also does it for all or almost all of the cores. I have friends who know their schedule for a full year in advance. I & other friends who have "TL" are always kept in the dark until the last week of our current rotation!!!

    Thanks in advance

Opps that's no good... I hope AUA can improve in this area, 'cause it is so crucial for a good education, besides as a selling point for the school....

TL is actually nice - she's more efficient and responsive than any clinical employee AUA has ever hired - so don't get on her bad side. By the time you're ready for the Match, you will be glad you had her.

IM and Family are available at any hospital that has a residency program in those fields - so use acgme.org. Peds and Ob are only Green at Wyckoff. Psych is only Green at St. John's Episcopal and the VA Hospital. Surgery is Green at Wyckoff and Sound Shore. If you don't care about Greenbook rotations, pick any random DO hospital in New York and, chances are, you will be able to do anything you want there.

Update: Psych at RUMC (Staten Island) is Green.

Yea I really like TL, people always have something to say about people, but I think she is one of the first AUA employees that I have interacted with that I feel is kind and wants us to do well.
Just be polite, patient and nice and she will return the favor
