Is Infection Disease GREEN at Wyckoff?

    Advertisements

    Hi.

Is Infectious Disease ACGME accredited at Wyckoff? Im confused because on FRIEDA it says there is an ID fellowship program thru NYMC - Brooklyn/Queens.

Also, anyone know of any other GREEN electives in NY (outside of Wyckoff) that AUA students can complete?

    Thanks.

yeah its green - even if there was no fellowship, because Wyckoff has an Internal Medicine residency program. Any hospital with an IM residency program physically located in it should be green for all IM electives except Neurology.

    hi.. thanks for ur response

    Hi Sree.

Where did you read or find out that electives for a core that has residents are green without a fellowship?

I am having trouble finding that sort of information anywhere, but its nice to see that you were able to find something out about that.

    Let me know,
    thanks.

I called the NYS medical board over an year ago. State medical boards are the best sources for this stuff. I think that the rationale behind this is that IM residency programs are required to have some academic program in the subspecialties to maintain accreditation.

How do you know which electives fall under IM? Does nephrology fall under there?
