    Residency update

    Advertisements

Just an update for anyone interested and in the same position, after completing your final rotation the school needs to issue you a diploma to apply for your ECFMG certification. AUSOM has been very responsive and hours after receiving my final evaluation had a diploma issued to me. I sent a copy (UPS) to the ECFMG and they said it will take the ECFMG about 10 days to post my information for AUSOM to document so I can receive my certificate. While all this is going on I have already completed my exit interview and audit with AUSOM and they have everything in order and up to date. This means certification of my educational documentation for the ECFMG should be a formality. AUSOM has also completed all my paperwork with the state licensure department and I only need my ECFMG certificate to get my state license. Everything seems to be completed and thanks to the registrar's constant emails asking me to make sure everything was in and up to date made the process smooth and very fast.

So now, I'm sitting back packing and finding a place to live for me and my family, everything else is just a formality. The cost of getting a medical education at AUSOM about 70K, the cost of the admin support and matching in your first choice priceless.

    Congrats Focus.

You give hope to us all just starting the medical school process. I hope in a few years I will be able to post something very similar to what you have..

    Btw, what did you match?

Dude you are clueless, the student you think is trolling is C. S., matched in FM at the University of Oklahoma. Which makes you & meRichard WU trolls............

Yup he did match. But this isn't him. The school is posing as him. He never did his clinicals at all those places. He just stuck in Jackson park. It's an imposter. I spoke with him personally. He's not even on valueMD, and I showed him all these posts

I'm not sure I follow. I had no person in particular in mind that I thought was trolling. What I saw was someone (anyone) who says they matched and it's 9 days before July 1 they haven't started orientation or even found a place to live yet. That is not believable for anyone regardless of school or what program they matched into.

There is no one with the initials of CS in the family medicine program.

Just came across this thread again. Doesn't look like your shining star resident wants anything to do with the school since he has not come back here and posted his experience, or even verified that he has matched.

I hope AUSOM students know what they are getting into now.
