Students taking classes at Davenport, please open!!!

    Advertisements

    hello,
I am lookignto applying for the fall semester at AUSOM for my Premed program and I learnt that to get loans as a US resident, i could enroll into Davenport and take some classes and i am not really sure how that works, so i am looking for students who are doing the same to please help answer some of the questions i have below:

    1) How do i choose the classes i want to take at Davenport? Do i have to pick them to match my Pm courses in the PM curriculum?
2)how many classes per semester am I supposed to take at Davenport?
3)Am I supposed to enroll in davenport through out my PM and MD years?
    4) How and when do i start my application to Davenport? Is it after i have been admitted into AUSOM?
5)How do we payback the loans gotten from them? Do we pay them immediately after the semester? or are we allowed some time after graduation?
    6) Are the loans always enough to cover the class taken at davenport and some parts of your tuition at AUSOM?
7)Does Davenport have any admission requirements?
8)What is the eligibility criteria for loans at Davenport?
9)Is there anyone here that got admission into AUSOM with their high school diploma? IF yes,
10)Were you a science major in high school?

I will appreciate it if these questions can be answered, I am really new in this whole systerm
    Thank You.

If you weren't gonna answer the question, all you had to do was skip the thread. There were alot of really helpful people here anyways than at the windsor forum. So I did get all my questions answered.

PnS11 are you from AUSOM or Windsor, there was a student here that transferred from Windsor and said he was paid by Windsor (reduced tuition) to get on ValueMD and say bad things about schools he never attended. Not thats thats a bad thing, I get on here and say bad things about my former school for free,,,,wish AUSOM would pay me. haha

It's possible. Ever since I saw the AUSOM Facebook page, Windsor has created one as well, with pictures of all the events that have happened in the last year at the school. Which is basically like 2 things. So they're definitely short on material. But I also have a good feeling that they are keeping tabs on rival schools, such as yours, and trying to implement practices from there. There were UMHS transfer students in our class that were asked by admin to find out from their friends still at UMHS what their curriculum was, more specifically in their Clin Med classes and other MD5 classes.

So whether they pay students to stuff like this, I don't know, but they definitely roam these forums, either as guests or registered users, with the hopes of gauging their students' interest and feelings about the school. It's not a bad practice, although offering to pay for someone to talk smack about other schools is pretty low. I wouldn't be surprised, but it should be known that if Windsor does, every other school that isn't a Big Four school making bank is doing it as well. It's a cut throat business.

As grimy as that practice by the school would be, I'm pretty sure the student that transferred to AUSOM failed out of Windsor and could not explain to anyone why they were such crap students, so they forged this lie. This isn't to say AUSOM is Windsor's dumping grounds, but a lot of students fail to take responsibility for their actions. I had plenty in my class and was rather close to all of them. They were good people but poor students and thus made them behave like children. I would recommend you stay away from these students when they head over to AUSOM in droves, like they are doing now.

Honestly, if you knew windsor as well as I do, you would know they're too cheap to pay students to do stuff like that
but yes a LOT of people I know personally that were repeat failures at wusm transferred to AUSOM, not to bash on ausom in anyway but just wanted to leave that comment. I would avoid these people just as PnS11 said.
