Is ASUOM accredited by the state of California?

    Advertisements

I have been going back and forth on various websites to find information about Atlantic University. But unfortunately I wasn't able to find much. My main concern is: "Is ASUOM degree accepted within the U.S specifically California? Also I would like to know if their set up as far as clinical rotation is like Ross University or SGU, which means that the second half of your 4 year education you get to study within the U.S. I am really considering of applying for Atlantic U. but I don't want to spend money and time just to find out that their degree isn't worth it. Please help if anyone has any insight. Thx

I called the office and asked and the registrar about California she said AUSOM is NOT recognized in California. I don't know about Ross or St. George we complete our entire clinical program in the US at teaching hospitals. We do have to pass step 1 of the USMLE. Also the 5th semester is completed in Chicago at a teaching hospital.

If you have any questions why not call the school? Why would you go to a forum known for lies, recruiters, and haters and ask any important questions?

Well, probably because the school representatives at many overseas medical schools often do not have a sterling reputation for forthrightness and honesty, themselves.

I think that checking with the CMB is, far and away, the best way to find out an accurate answer.

And no, AUSOM is not CMB approved, which means that California (and any of the other states that use the CMB list) are out of the question for future training and practice.

Ross and SGU both are approved for all 50 states, as are SABA, AUC and AUA in the Carib. There are a number of other programs in Europe with 50 state approval, as well.

Thank you NewGuy for answering my question, and yes you may be right, I could have called the school, but experience has shown me that Forums like this are a great source of information (disregarding the haters and advocators). Also thank you DevilDoc for the info. I believe because of that lac of credentials I will chose not to attend this school. Hopefully I made the right choice. Thx again.
