Which Philippine Medical Schools are worth considering if wanting to return to US?

Title pretty much says it all. I also understand that, correct me if im wrong, that you can only realistically take STEP1 after completing your 4 years of medical school in such a scenario. Not sure if thats such a good thing...

Study in europe, not in the philippines if you have the chance to! The quality of education is extremly poor, even if you have so many succesfull board passers! You are trained with books sometimes 40-50 years old, its ridiculous!

I beg to differ. Do you even know what you are talking about. The Philippines has a very good track record of producing excellent medical graduates be they doctors, nurses, PT's etc. especially if you decide to practice in the USA. You, Sir, are also totally misinformed about the books. They use current editions of all medical books.

The decision to take step 1 and 2 are strictly up to you if your are ready. But they can all be taken in the Philippines if you wish. Many wait till they graduate and take a review class before taking the USMLE whether in the US or RP. As far as schools, you have UERM, UP, UST, FEU, DLHSI, CIT, and many, many others. I know a physician husband and wife who graduated from MCU who are doing extremely well. The wife is Chief of Pathology and husband is in private practice. Even Filipino doctors who can well afford to send their kids to a US medical school willingly send their kids to the Philippines to attend med school!!

HarleyQuinn, do not listen to the detractors here.

Find out which schools in the Phillpines offers clinical rotations in the US such as UST, Fatima College, University of Perpetual Help and UERM. Filipino medical schools are modeled after the US medical schools but offer more in depth level of training. University of Perpetual Help-Laguna has dorms above the classrooms and very well gated with nearby restaurants nearby across the street. University of Perpetual Help's link is: http://gmfadmission.in/university-of...system-uoph-2/

How you turned out as a student was strictly on you. If you did not study and partied a lot well thats your fault and not the school. Your comments here just reflects on your inability to cope with med school and the Philippines. You cannot even express yourself properly in English. And you say you took med school??? Really?? Really??

Don't play smart, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Maybe you answer that lady the same nonsense, lets see what she's replying:
I cant post links yet, google:
    ALL U.S. CITIZENS BEWARE!

Please, DO NOT take up NURSING education in the Philippines!

If you are a U.S. citizen the PRC & BON will DISCRIMINATE AGAINST YOU! And, you can NOT take the board exam. Therefore, you can NOT practice in the U.S. if your state requires a license from the country you were educated in.

PLEASE, DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME & MONEY ON THE PHILIPPINES!

One should not play with the career of Students. Believe there are some good medical colleges in Philippines. And Worst also. But I don't understand why still students are going in worst medical colleges in Big numbers. Well, to know more about medical colleges in Philippines, we are the only organization whose 80% children of Directors are studying . I will request to kindly read article in Best Overseas Medical Education Consultant in India to Study MBBS in Abroad. Search for BlueStar Overseas education Consultants.

Every place has good and not so good institutions. But to generalize based on one experience bc (assuming its true) a person did not do their due diligence is asinine. If you want to point out issues then be specific. Medical schools in the Philippines have produced excellent physicians and other health care professionals. In the US, Filipino physicians, nurses and other health care professionals are sought after bc of their caring attitude and knowledge. While some that come from certain parts of Asia are not well liked bc of their bad beside manners, cockiness and arrogance.
