View Full Version : Passed step 3

Just got results, passed!
I am in an FP program on J1, had previously failed step 3 before residency and didn't have time to retake. I studied sbout 2 hours daily for 4 weeks, did Crush the boards - twice, Kaplan Q book with explanations once ( scoring 68-72 %), Swanson's end of chapter summaries once ( due to lack of time), UW CCS cases once, CCS Blueprints once ( terrific book!)and I practiced the CCS software really well. On my USMLE Step 3 CD, I scored 76-80 %. I found the actual test itself quite challenging, wasn't sure of answers of about 25 % MCQs. All my CCS cases went well, though, and I found them very easy. I think this test overall measures your real world clinical skills very well, doing lots of questions (and reading explanations) is key and practice the CCS software really well.
BTW, my final scores - 226/92 ( I expected to pass but this is a nice surprise !) Good luck everyone!

Studied 2 weeks full time. Did exactly 75% of usmleworld, and nothing else. Got 55% on usmleworld and 80/197 on the real test.
Doing 2nd year in a busy Internal Medicine residency.
