I was an observer and had some discussion for this website in the past a few month. I would like to thank doctors who help step 3 takers. The following is my experiences, I took exam in early October(first time) and received the result today (80s).

1. Books: Kaplan Q-Bank, Notes and Videos, Blueprints, MKSAP, USMLE world cases.

2. I reviewed Kaplan videos, notes and blueprints by subject, and then MKSAP. In the last two weeks, I did Kaplan Q-Bank and USMLE world cases (around 60 cases). I didnít have time to do USMLE world questions.

3. I feel Step 3 is not easy but not very difficult. However, this exam needs intensive studying and serious preparation .

4.MCQs are the key to pass, it accounts for 75% of total score. TB including PPD test, Asthma, PE, Pneumonia, MI, CHF,DVT, Head ache, CVA, Bowel obstruction, HIV, endocarditis, ACEI indications etc are high yeilds.

5. CCS are not difficult, please practice the cases of USMLE official CD.

6. Concentrate on certain books you choose and know them well.

I believe everybody will pass if you use right books and enough times.

If you have any question, please post here or e-mail me at [email protected]

Good luck to everybody.
