Chiropractic adjustments can be used to deal with various health issues of newborns and infants. Some of these include acid reflux, breastfeeding disturbances, poor sleeping habits and chronic infections. These problems may occur due to some neurological problems and can be corrected by the chiropractors.

Chiropractic adjustment also is known as manual manipulation or spinal manipulation for lower back pain. A chiropractic adjustment typically involves:

1) A high velocity, short lever arm thrust applied to a vertebra
2) An accompanying, audible release of gas (joint cavitation) that is caused by the release of oxygen, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide, which releases joint pressure (cavitation)19
3)A relieving sensation most of the time, although minor discomfort has been reported (that usually lasts for a short time duration) if the surrounding muscles are in spasm or the patient tenses up during this chiropractic care.
