I知 45 years old and living in Whitby. I have a damaged tooth and I知 planning to correct it with dental crowns from Appleton Dental Clinic in Whitby. Has anyone been to this place? I知 too scared to go to a dental clinic. Is the procedure painful? How long dental crowns last? Does it require any special care?

If you are scared of the procedure you can tell the dentist to sedate you during the process so that you well just wake up as it's done. It's not painful actually but in your case since you a little frighten you can ask for that.

I'm not familiar with the practice you speak of, but crowns can last up to 40 years, but generally they last about 7. Assuming they kept up the poor dental hygiene that led us here in the first place, at 7 years the patient will have developed a cavity and will have to have the crown replaced, get a root canal, or an implant. Regardless, getting a crown really doesn't hurt too much. The dentist will give you some local anesthetic, and you will be fine. As for care, you still need to brush regularly, as the crown itself will not decay, but the tooth underneath it will.
