I've been looking around and have thought about studying in Poland to obtain my MBBS. What kind of education can be expected from the well-known universities, like Warsaw? Is there anywhere else you would suggest studying? I have been told to learn German and study there, and also about Ireland. Thank you.

In Poland there are 2-3 universities that are worth going to. If you read around you will quickly find out which ones they are.

If you want to specialize then try to apply to a medical university in your home country.

If you decide to go to Poland do the research, and be prepared to work on preparing for residency from day one. By preparing I mean study for the exams, and making connections that will help you in the future. Have a clear road map ready for before you start class.

There are many people who have this misconception that attending medical school automatically means that they will be doctors. Those are the students who don't get licensed.

Depends. If you plan on going back to the US then there is a greater chance you will become a barista than getting a residency.

Hi Boone,

I'm afraid not. Read as many threads on this website as you can, but the general consensus is that medical schools in Western Europe and America are far better in quality and student services.

Good luck
