Hi everyone. I'm a new member here and a first year Medical Student.

I'm trying to wrap my head around the big picture of things and incorporate all our physiology lectures to make some practical sense.

So in an individual that has hypoxemia, what are the physiological responses as far as:

RBC and reticulocyte count goes?
-> would the decrease in [O2] require an increase in reticulocyte and RBC levels so there are more hemoglobin molecules that are available for use?

Cardiac Output goes?
-> would a decrease in Cardiac Output result in order to conserve the little Oxygen that is available?

Blood Pressure goes?
-> somewhat related to the cardiac output question.

any help??

You can find the information about these questions on this interesting blog: (vladeddie dot blogspot dot com). Just search for the article about blood. Cheers!
