Hey! Congrats! I was accepted for May 2013 a couple months ago - just finishing my Master's first.
I am a super creeper on this forum and am finally getting around to joining! Looking forward to meeting everyone!

This is a bit off topic, but why did you guys choose SABA? I have been accepted here but am having a few doubts on whether to pursue it. AUC will accept me for May if I retake the MCAT and raise my score a few points. I also have an interview with SGU coming up, probably for the MPH/MD program. I am waiting on ROSS. I had my heart set on AUC and now I don't know what to do. What about saba med school convinced you to choose it? Thanks!!

Hi DoctorGirl,
I can't speak for everyone else, but my main reasons for choosing SABA was the price difference, fact that it's on a smaller/safer island and that the only accept about 100 students per semester. Obviously, you have to choose the school that is right for you. I really like that SABA is very secluded because then I can immerse myself in studies and graduate on time. Also I don't like how AUC does not interview. I felt that the staff at SABA was very helpful. I also have heard that AUC has been growing larger and larger lately. As for Ross, my main reason for not choosing them was because of the high attrition rate and the area seems a bit dangerous. Also they accept a lot of students, and I feel like I wouldn't get a personalized attention there.

Hi DoctorGirl,
There are a ton of threads on why to pick one school over another and why people chose Saba, AUC, Ross etc. If you look through the Saba forum you will find a lot of info to answer your question - at least that's what I did. For me personally, it was size, cost and reputation among people I knew in the medical field here in Canada. It's really a personal choice, much like choosing between Universities in Canada/US - everyone has their preference depending on your personality, financial situation, etc and you can find someone on this forum who will argue for and against every school you mentioned. I would say go with your gut.

Hello everyone, I just interviewed for Ross yesterday and this morning I got a call from AUC saying that I got accepted. I am leaning more towards AUC but I will do some research over the weekend and ultimately decide by Monday. I guess I am here to say hi and looking for fellow students who are as serious about studying as I am. feel free to send me a private message if you want to chat about AUC and looking forwards to meeting you in May.
