Hi there I'm planning on going to visit some Medical schools in Curacao and Aruba, and I was wondering who should I speak to when I'm on the Island to come check out the school and speak to some students and some of the profs that teach at CMU
Thanks again!

Hi Dratifm, I sent an IM but also wanted to let you know some of the great things about CMU. First, we would love for you to visit our campus. You will be pleased with what you find and I know for a fact you will find many advantages at CMU. It is modern, comfortable, safe, and beautiful. It has all of the amenities that you would ever need while in school: bank, ATM, Post Office, Convenience stores, gift stores, auto rentals, several cafes, round the clock security, a fitness center, beach, pools, and so much more. School starts back up on January 9th, 2012 so there is no one there until that time. I am very happy to answer any questions in the meantime. I am the SGA President. We are always very happy for you to speak with our students and faculty. We also have a state of the art Anatomy Lab and we are the first medical school to have founded a mobile clinic which serves the community. You can see pictures of our anatomy lab as well as one of our mobile clinic health fairs on our Caribbean Medical University Facebook site. You will also be able to see many pictures of some of the great activities that our students enjoyed this semester as well: The White Coat Ceremony, Orientation, Welcome Party, Midterm Party, and MD4 Farewell Dinner. We have a very active student body as you will be able to see. CMU's #1 focus is on the quality of our education and I know, first hand, that they do their very best to insure that this is provided. You can also see this concern in the fact they are one of the very few school which actually provide and back their student loans, not to mention the fact they keep their tuition extremely reasonable! If you compare to most other schools, most of them do not offer loans at all and their tuition is almost double. Our classes allow for a tremendous amount of clinical correlation due to the ability to engage in excellent clinical discussions. The upcoming semester is going to focus even more on stressing the importance of clinical and problem based learning, as problem based learning will now be taught in all 4 classes. This insures we will be even more prepared for the Step when that time comes. On a personal level, CMU is also concerned about keeping the living expenses of their students as inexpensive as possible. They provide nice dorms (you can see pictures of the dorm rooms on the CMU Facebook site as well) at cost. For only $550, a student can get their dorm, all utilities, cable, internet, water, trash and transportation to and from school everyday- complete. It will run almost 3 times this at other schools, and there is no transportation provided. I strongly encourage you to come visit. I think you will be very pleased with the campus, the program, the students and faculty. Please let me know if you have any further questions and let us know when you would like to visit! We would be happy to have you!
