Hello All,

I was just wondering how many credits you typically take per semester at Saba? From the website, it would seem that you are taking 32-36 credits some semesters, which seems to be far in excess of what you would take in other schools. Any insight is appreciated.....

"Far in excess of what you would take in other schools" is Saba's motto.

To be honest, I still don't understand "credits" in the slightest. Never did. However, for reference (semesters are 15 weeks):

1st semester:
Anatomy: 14 credits/281hours
Histology: 10 credits/206 hours
New dr/patient relations course replacing EBM: 2 credits/19 hours

2nd semester:
Biochem: 10cr/160hr
Epidemiology: 4cr/64hr
Human phys: 10cr/170hr
Genetics: 8cr/80hr.

At least for histo and DPR (1st semester) the # of credits accurately represents how many hours you spend on it per week. Anatomy is more like 10 or 20 depending on whether you count the lab, I dunno how they came up with 14.

I'm not sure what you're asking. The relative number of credits in a given semester are used to calculate your weighted GPA in that particular semester i.e. they give a reflection of how much impact a grade in a given course will have on your overall GPA. Hence why EBM/DPR is only worth 2 credits as opposed to anatomy, which is worth 14 credits. Hope this helps.
