If I got admitted for May 2011, what would I be considered the graduating class of? Class of 2014, finishing at the end of summer? I know it's a 10-semester program, but some people have mentioned possible delays in between semesters, due to the USMLE. Is that true? And if so, is that common and what's the longest amount of time you could get delayed?

longest amount of time technically possible you could get delayed is infinity.

you're looking at a 4 month buffer and grad 2015 (which is your regular grad date) the way saba does classes it would be pretty much impossible to grad 2014

hmm... I have a plan and was wondering if someone could confirm if its possible at all

Basic Science:
1. May-Aug 2011
2. Aug-Dec 2011
3. Jan-May 2012
4. May-Aug 2012
5. Aug-Dec 2012

(I've included Jan-May as a buffer)
Clinicals:
6. May-Aug 2013
7. Aug-Dec 2013
8. Jan-May 2014
9. May-Aug 2014
10. Aug-Dec 2014

Get certified in Dec, and take step 3 before residency in June 2015 (hopefully Feb/March)

Well, basically isn't it the same for the Aug intake class? They finish 3 months later than the May class and I was wondering if I could take the Step 3 inbetween that time if I start in May?

(Also, I figured the buffer time was time to study for step 1 (approx. 1 month), step 2 (both) and interviews? Is the "buffer" time clinical lag time?)

If you have a 4 month lag between leaving the island and starting clinicals you are going to be in trouble. You will HAVE to take time off to study step 2 and interview there's no way around that. Being december matching 2015 is the only choice...you just have to be more realistic with your schedule. It's very difficult to get back to back rotations no matter where you go unless you get extremely lucky (or not the most stellar rotations). If you're smart you'll take 4-6 weeks to study step 1 after getting off the island get your score 3 weeks later and start rotations ASAP. Starting clinical rotations isn't the problem, the problem is when you only have 1 or 2 cores left and there's no spaces that fit into your schedule. Saba can easily stick you into a first rotation right after you get your score so don't go into it thinking you can get all your cores back to back. As december class you luckily have more time to work with but I still wouldn't chance it if I was you. Good luck!

Didn't want to start a new thread but on the topic of graduation, where will the ceremony be held? On Saba or somewhere in the States?
