Hello Everyone,

We're very proud to announce that, as of the start of July 2004, ValueMD has officially sponsored a second child from Children International, thus continuing ValueMD's goal of, "raising funds to help support an underprivileged child from a third world country with the hopes of relieving the child's hunger and poverty."

A little bit about Luz:
Her full name is Luz Enith Ramos De La Cruz and she lives in Colombia. Luz is in much need of assistance because she is living in a very poor area of Colombia where her and her family struggle to survive on a monthly income of only $132. She is the newest member of her family and will celebrate her 3rd birthday on September 22nd. Her mother, Enith, has abandoned Luz, so she lives with her 34 year old father, Pedro, who is a bricklayer, and her two brothers, Pedro Luiz, 13, and Ivan, 10.

She is 2 years old with brown hair and eyes. Her favorite school subject is Art, her favorite pastimes are playing with dolls, her talents and hobbies include dancing and singing, and her spoken language is Spanish.

Her home is made of wood and has dirt floors. Her family's water source is delivered by truck and stored in a barrel. The sanitary facility consists of an open field.

Here is a picture of Luz:

Every member of ValueMD can share the credit for making a difference in this child's life. Aside from the generous donations from members, of which 100% is allocated directly to charity, the ever-growning popularity of the site attracts sponsors which are responsible for providing the funds needed to help support this project. In addition, we'll be periodically sending letters to the sponsored children on behalf of all the members (feel free to write some encouraging words which will be included in our letters). Whether you knew it or not, your participation on this site has not only helped other users like yourself in the medical field, but has also indirectly provided the resources necessary to make a difference in at least two underprivileged children's lives so far. And if the site continues to grow at this pace, we'll hopefully be able to sponsor at least one new child each year :D .

Please visit ValueMD's Charity Page (http://www.valuemd.com/bigheart.php) to view a larger picture of Luz or for further information regarding our charity projects.

As always, thanks for your support and for using ValueMD!
