Don't judge a book by it's cover. The biggest is not the best. Destiny is a medical school with very high standards. To understand this concept in the context of high standards an examination of goals, expectations and outcomes will prove that Destiny University is a medical University of "exemplary" status. Your destiny is waiting for you at "Destiny University School of Medicine."

IN THIS CASE THERE IS NO COVER, AND THE CONTENT IS RUBBISH :)
There are far better schools to choose from, with solid track record.

the destiny name is one followed by money and greed, even moreso than most any other place out there.

It's great, it sucks, tastes great, less filling....does the truth lie somewhere in between?

Is it still active and are their students becoming practicing physicians anywhere?

I remember when everyone chortled at the mention of St Georges, but they seem to have come a long way and are doing well. Is Destiny so different? Is there litigation pending against them or something?

Why such angst?

I guess there's always hesitation and doubt when faced w/ a school that has little track record. SGU took 30+ years to pull it off, so upstarts like this school have a tough hill to climb in order to become reputable.

They've been open since '01 according to their information thread, so I'm thinking that they should have had a graduating class by now.

It's funny that UHSADOC decided to include windsor in the "better list to go by". I guess 30 grads and change in its 10 year history = enough street cred huh? lol

Can you tell me more about this school. I always like to ask for the Good, the Bad and the UGLY :) I would love to hear some insiders views on the school.

Dear Bern2,

I am a transferring student about to enroll for the third and fourth semesters, I wanted to ask you if you help me with some information about those who have actually graduated from this school.

These are my questions?

1. Does the school current have students in the US residency program?

2. Other than California and perhaps Texas who may have blacklist this program because it has an element of long distance program, which other states should I state away? I know that Arkansas will accept students from this school because of their medical law, the questions, which other States will welcome students coming from Destiny?
3. How many students do you personally know are currently enrolled in this school (first and second semesters; third and fourth semesters; and fifth through 8 semester)?

4. How do you enjoy the program? Do you feel like you are learning a lot, that is whether you in the long distance or campus based?

5. How well does Dr. Harrington prepare His students for first step of USLME and how many students do actually pass. I guess I am asking for their support level.

Please kindly let me know these answers because I have to make up my mind in a few days whether to pay for my tuition.

Thank you for quick response.

Sincerely,

Destinytobe

3. of the 4 states that have grads with unrestricted full licenses, which ones have grads that did your distance learning/online program?

I confess that I was drawn to Destiny because of the name but the inner voices had other things to say. Listen to the voice. It will guide you to your REAL destiny.

I don't see any reason why anyone would not want to go to this school, it looks like a pretty good school and the offering to study online is awesome.

What I liked is that they were friendly, seemed dedicated to teaching and working with me in as much as possible.

Once I started I found the instructors top notch, patient and readily available to help me.

Another thing I can also tell you is that none of them have ever bagged on another school or its faculty/students at any time in my presence.

Yeah, the name is definitely corny, but the school is in a great location and its one of the rare few schools in the world that lets you do part of your studying online.

The library of the Congress has the information.

Put a video camera on every single medical school course in the world and put them online, along with every medical book in the library of congress, all digital, all online and all free available on a single web site. That's the medical school I want to attend.

The library of the Congress is not a medical school. This is the place that gathers the information of the rights of authors.

And I would love if that L.O.C. index of every single medical book in the world were digitized and put online free for the benefit of humanity

There goes USHA-DOC again: the very voice of doom and gloom. You should do the opposite of what he/she says. You can be certain to find him on every new forum criticizing the respective new school. The guy is mentally malfuncted and needs help. Poor fellow.

I dream that this forum just becomes a great source of information for the prospective students not a wrestling ring where school officials hide making others look that they are prospective students just to try to disqualify the other schools.

No need to be offensive ladies and gentlemen. Lets me informative not agresive.

This school appears to be a joke. There is no REAL professional in the office. How do they expect to function if they expect future student enrollment??

take your education elsewhere and Run as fast as you can.

Formerdestinystudent

Run and go elsewhere. They have no good professionals in this office if they still exist that is...just seems like a bunch of liars who are playing with students future as long as they get their money.

Formerdestinystudent

maybe because the people that are supposed to be running the school act so immaturely and unprofessionally!!!

It is foolish for anyone to attend this school. After 2017, the degree from this school is not acceptable for US or Canada. Therefore I would be very careful and recommend you contact ECFMG to verify the school's current status. Most likely this school will be shut down in St Lucia if it isn't already.
