View Full Version : ? for AUC Families.

I've been accepted into Sept. 04 Class. I have two children (4 and 5 years old) and am interested in knowing how students with families find time to study in the evenings. I heard that students could hire a nanny inexpensively. My biggest concerns are the local elementary schools. I spoke with an admissions rep from MEIO and she mentioned due to low enrollment for elementary school on campus, they may close the elementary school. I would like to know what are the other options for parents?

Thanks soo much,

:) Hi Minnie
We (husband, 2 1/2 and 1 year old) are coming to SXM in May. After talking to lots of folks and my husband visiting, it seems that there is definitely time for family life. Lots of spouses even visit for lunch breaks to spend time. If the studies are managed and stayed on top of it seems like there will be time (of course during exams, it might be different).

There are other schools on the island, try and do a search for them. Also have you consisdered home schooling? The school system is based on Florida regulations and you can get that information on requirements from them. Just a thought. Also they haven't closed the school, yet. So that is not definite.

Hopefully this helps alittle. :)

Good Luck!
