View Full Version : Shelf Exam Policy?

Hey, does anyone know what the current policy is regarding clinical shelf exams?

for example, getting below a 70 on a shelf exam, but still passing the clinical rotation (with 50% of the grade from the evaluation and the possibility of an additional 10% from the daily log?)

so, the current system is 50, 40, 10?

Don't quote me, but I think as long as the combined grade is passing...you are good to go.

Current system is 50, 50 (bonus 10 logs) for cores. As long as your total passing score is over 70 you're good. You do not need to pass the shelf to pass the class. I have this in writing from the school. I asked the same question a while ago.

If you read the current online catalog it states that you must have a OVERALL passing grade of 70% which includes preceptor, shelf, and logs.

Thankfully, from now on the clinical shelf isn't worth 50%. The med shelf wasn't that bad though. Well, I THINK it wasn't bad. :D
