I have alot of contact with the current 5th semesters both in Maine and Miami. They all agree that after an 8 hr day it is extremely hard to go home to study some more. They are some really good professors and there are average professors. In Miami there is alot of traffic for people that commute. And its not uncommon if you find yourself in a situation that requires you to know spanish. Other than that, everything is fine.

going to miami/maine is ONLY GREAT for pp already "READY READY READY" and "KNOW IT ALL"...then, these pp will have great time in kaplan, which is a BOOT camp...

many pp go there to try to LEARN new things...NO! that is why it is good to take one or 2 term off, then KAPLAN will be a walk in the park and productive/effective to the step 1!

sounding negative like that, u can take as many terms off as u want n will never be ready. U gotta start somewhere.....to make kaplan more effective, review the major topics on your break before kaplan starts and the transition to kaplan would be a lot smoother. u dont have to be "READY READY" and "KNOW IT ALL" before kaplan, but do whatever it takes to reach that level by the end of the semester. If still not ready by then, take more time off. But if u treat 5th semester just like another semester of fun/partying out on weekends in South Beach, then you're in for a nice little smack in the face when step 1 comes around. This is not nonsense talking, since i've been thru it..... 6 months removed from kaplan, doing rotations, and giving u guys a heads up on what lies ahead. Good luck docs...
