View Full Version : Biochemistry Shelf Tips

I've heard a bunch of different things about the biochem shelf and its difficulty. I was wondering what the current 3rd and 4th semester students thought of the shelf exam when they took it and how we can best prepare for it.
Should I be reviewing material I learned this semester or brush up on my genetics (like many of my current classmates are telling me)?
Thanks for the help.

There was lot of genetics questions in there which made the test very hard as Dr. V taught us nothing. Do the pretest questions as someone told me that questions were of that format (I didn't do the pretest).
Most of us found the test to be hard but it could be subjective.

I'm in biochemistry as well and have no idea how to study for the shelf as well. Do you know where we can ge the pretest you are talking about?

As far as biochemistry shelf, genetics was overwhelming, 4th semester stuff, I studied Kaplan and watched videos and did well, the metabolic part was pretty stright forward, good luck
