View Full Version : For those thinking about coming to Atlanta

Believe it or not things are actually beginning to move forward on establishing rotations here in Atlanta. The physician that is overseeing AHEC is really putting a lot of time and effort into making sure any and all rotations AUA students do in Atlanta will be a great learning experience and more importantly meet ACGME requirements.

That said, I have been asked to let the students that will be coming to Atlanta in September to make sure they have only short clincal coats and a diagnostic kit. Dr. P. said if you would like to wait and purchase your kit when you show up for orientation on 9/4 he knows of a group that will give you a discount. I can say from personal experience that you will be in for a great learning experience (even with an exam at the end of the rotation that counts as 30% of your grade  )!

How does AUA place students into clinicals? do you get a choice as to where you want to go? does it all depend on step 1 scores? is there some advantage to starting off in a sept semester or is it ok to start in jan or may terms? Thanks.
