Hi everyone,

I plan on applying to the Technion and Sackler in a couple months for admission in Fall '07. In february I'm leaving to go on a Kibbutz Ulpan for 5 months and I've been told by my regional aliyah director that I need to declare aliyah before I go.

I have some worries about doing declaring aliyah because if I don't get in to the Technion or Sackler, I'll probably come back to the US after the Ulpan and do a masters program in physiology. After that, if I go to med school in Israel, will I have lost my aliyah benefits? Or can I put the benefits on hold while I leave the country for a couple years?

Thanks

Yes- you will lose your aliyah priviliges! If you plan on making aliyah then wait!
I am glad to see that aliyah is done out of ideology!!!!!

Also, if you do Aliyah now you might give up the opportunity to go to Sackler or Technion since their english-speaking med school programs are reserved for US & Canadian citizens. You'd be best to wait.

Dual residents aren't discriminated against
