I just wanted to know if you can give me ANY ideas on what hypothesis I
can test for my Physiology ECG experiment. I've been
brainstorming for 5 days now, reading the experiment
over and over again. Analyzing the data to the best of
my knowledge but I still don't know what to do as a
hypothesis. For the ECG experiment, the only info. I
have on the subjects (5 group members) are their age,
height, and weight. Along w/ whether or not they
exercise at least 4-5 days a week. In the experiment,
we collected:

1)Resting Phase(supine) Data: like delta time and
heart beat per min. And the ECG components: P wave,
P-R interval, QRS complex, T wave, etc. And the
Ventricular readings like Q-T interval etc.

2)Sitting Phase Data: Heart rate for delta time and
BPM

3)Deep Breathing Phase Data: Inpsiration and
Expiration looking at Delta T and BPM again.

4)PostExercise Data: Looking at Ventricular readings
(Q-T interval and End of T wave to corresponding R
wave). We did light exercise by running up and down a
flight of stairs 5 times, then sat back down and had
our heart rate recorded.

I just don't know what to test for my hypothesis. I
had an idea where I can possibly find out if there is
a difference in a person who does/does not exercise
and their heart rates before and after doing the light
exercise for postexercise data. I can't think of anything and no one in my
class wants to tell me what they are testing b/c they
said someone might copy them. I really really need
help.

You may investigate the following:

resting heart rates of exercisers vs non (you would assume those who exercise would have a lower resting heart rate as their cv system is "more efficient" and does not need to work as hard to acheive equillibrium.)

You may also guess that those who exercise regularly will have a smaller rise in heart rate w/ strenuous activity (an exercised heart have the capacity to handle the increased o2 demand without needing to increase its rate as much)

finally you can guess that those who regularly exercise will recover to a lower heart rate sooner than those who dont.
